Essential Treatment Day Products
Treatment days meant hours of sitting, port access, food, drinks, naps, and trying
to make myself as comfortable as possible. These are some of the things I actually
brought with me or wore during treatment.
Everyday Essentials
These are some of the everyday things that became useful while I was going
through treatment. Some solved obvious problems. Others were simple products
that became much more important once nausea, sensitive skin, fatigue, and
other side effects entered daily life.
Neuropathy
Neuropathy became one of the most frustrating parts of my treatment experience.
These are a couple of the simple products I personally tried while looking for
ways to make my hands and feet more comfortable.
Living Space
I spent a lot more time at home once treatment started. A few products helped
make that space easier to use and gave me more control over the environment
around me.
Gadgets
I like having actual data when I can get it. These are some of the small devices
I used to keep an eye on activity and physical changes during my journey.
Organization
Cancer creates an absurd amount of paperwork. Appointment notes, test results,
medication lists, insurance documents, bills, instructions, and questions can
quickly turn into piles. A simple physical organization system helped me keep
important information somewhere I could actually find it again.
An Unfinished Story
The Pattern Is Still Forming.
There is no final victory already written into Canceromachy. The project is being created while the life behind it continues. New treatments, new fears, new discoveries, new myths, new gardens, and new chapters continue to appear.
The central idea is simpler: suffering does not automatically receive ownership of everything that comes after it.
Cancer may be the monster that begins the battle. It does not get to decide what the story is about.
